As mentioned in some of my previous posts, there are many reasons why aware Canadians are opposed to the measures in Bill C-293 (The Pandemic Prevention and Preparedness Bill) which has already passed through the House of Commons and the first reading in Canada’s Senate.
The Senate is supposed to do a SECOND READING of Bill C-293 sometime this session.
That would be followed by a Committee review
then Third Reading
and Royal Assent into law.
Apparently, if there are significant alterations to Bills in the second body, they need to go back to the first… so if the Senate Committee were to revise the Bill to quite a degree and it passes third reading in the Senate , I don’t think it can be given Royal Assent.

Given how Bill C-293 targets commercial agricultural production, and how various agricultural groups presented their concerns to the Standing Committee on Health, Lawyer Lisa Miron suggests interested Canadians send out emails to various agricultural organizations letting them know where in the process this Bill is (i.e. it is only a few steps away from becoming law.
